Kary's Degrassi Blog 
I actually love the idea of KC and Bianca hanging out together. I think I’d love to see KC throw a wrench in the Drianca coupling. I enjoy random out-of-the-blue characters interacting, which was why I enjoyed Sean and Ellie so much during the old school TNG days. Even forgetting any romantic entanglements, this is still a good story, since KC has been mostly isolated for the last season or so.

Yeah I totally agree. Bianca and KC did chill together and get drunk before in Season 10 though, so they have a past of kind of being friends. I was literally just thinking about how I haven’t seen K.C. have any relevance since Ty, so I’m glad he’ll be in the B plot slot.

I was really looking forward to Maya and Campbell’s relationship, but now I’m not so sure. I was hoping for them both going into the romance tentatively and them being on the same plan and growing together, in turn making their relationship’s base stronger, I think. I really hope they make sure that they feel the same way about each other and not have Maya in love and Cam kind of interested; similar to Luke and Jenna this week, and Drew and Katie two weeks ago.
I’m not sure how I feel about the KC and Bianca plot. I do enjoy watching them interact, because they haven’t really since Season 10, and I thought they had chemistry– in the friendship sense. On the other hand, I feel like the matchmaking deal with KC’s mother might be a bit silly. However, I think it might be leading up to something bigger, which I hope happens.
Asher and Clare I am excited for. Darcy handled her sexual abuse in one way, and I’m interested in how Clare deals with it opposed to her sister. Although, I really don’t want this ordeal to ruin Clare and Eli’s relationship because it just got started and the more they break them up, the harder it will be to continuously get them back together.

Unfortunately, many women don’t want to be near or even be touched by men when they have been sexually harassed. So Clare may distance herself from Eli if she tells him or she may act really put off by him touching her in a certain way. I would completely understand if Clare would want a break from Eli until she better with her trust issues with men. But you never know she might be strong enough to understand that all men are not like that. We have to see. :)

In the promo, I didn’t like how when Asher grabs clare for a kiss, she didn’t seem to react fast enough like she almost looked like she was accepting the kiss. I hope that doesn’t happen, but from these previous two episodes she obviously admires him, but she doesn’t seem attracted to him so I don’t know.

Am I the only one who gets a feeling that Cam only wants to be JUST friends with Maya, considering there have been very few clips of them together where Cam actually looks happy.
I think we have to keep in mind that all of the preseason promos were built to be misleading. But I’m not going to say he’s gay (yet), since I’ve been pretty much attacked every time I bring it up.
But honestly, I don’t know what’s up with him. I’m 50/50 on the whole anxiety thing too.
I am looking forward to Clare very much as well… Peace!

I hope Clare bites Ashers tongue really hard. unless she wants that kiss its another story. What Im baffled about is why she has not realised that Asher is not suppose to touch her at all.

Why are some fans shipping Asher & Clare??. Its pretty damn sick to me. It would be different if Clare was an adult and the attraction was mutual. There is nothing sexy about sexual harassment or matter of any sexual crime. What Asher is doing Clare is a sexual crime because she is a minor.

As far as I can tell, the age of consent in Canada is 16. I’m not positive about how old Clare is, but 16 seems about right.

The age of consent is 16 but it has to be within 5 years. Each Canadian Province is different. Bascially she can legally date a guy between 16-22. If older than 22 its statutory rape

okay looked into it further. it looks like the 5 year thing is only for people under 16. however, since he’s her mentor and in a position of authority, the age of consent is 18.

For the first time, I have to admit that Cam/Maya was pretty cute, yet awkward in the photo booth. But did anyone get the sense that Cam wasn’t too pleased to hear Tristan’s fake happy song about falling in love with musical theatre and moving onto a new love? (which wasn’t believable for a second) They made a point of showing his facial expression. He’s like ‘Uh, please don’t say that…”

I like how the writers remembered Clare actually has a sister with the picture of Darcy while she’s writing the article for Asher.
I, personally, think Cam’s never has his first kiss and is just nervous. It can be nerve-wracking not knowing if someone feels the same way you do, and you don’t want to mess it up and create awkward situations. I think the way Cam reacted doesn’t mean he’s gay; it just means he’s nervous.
Was I the only one who noticed that Mr. T is Randal Edwards who played Noah Jensen on The Best Years?

I really hope that is the case with Cam shying away from the kiss, because I really don’t want the writers to make the character gay. After all, Cam does have serious anxiety issues apparently.

Can I offer an alternative theory? One that probably is not true but I hope it would be…what if Cam is asexual? It would explain why he genuinely seems to enjoy Maya’s company and wants to be with her but completely shies away from any physical gestures from her, his uncomfortable reaction to Tristian’s song and him freaking out over the hockey players’ pressuring him into hooking up with girls.
Degrassi has always tackled taboo, controversial topics and having a close friend struggle with the possibility of being asexual, I think it would be awesome if Degrassi presented a positive asexual character
I, like many of the viewers, feel like Cam being gay would be a total repeat of the Riley story line while this would be something fresh and new…
Sadly, its probably not going to happen but I hope it does!

Tonights episode was berry berry entertaining I’m xxtra excited for tomorrows episode!.. However I was a lil shocked at how Eli was acting so cavalier about the way clare was ranting on about Asher he even made jokes with Ali I know my bf would have flipped if I was going on and on about another man especially if he was my boss he should have told her to slow down and stop chasing “waterfalls”.

Darcy was sexually assaulted. Clare was sexually harassed. There’s a difference. And millions of people go through sexual abuse or harassment every year so it’s not like it never happens to people in the same family. I don’t think it has much to do with Darcy, since the mention of her name and pictures are now rare on Degrassi. I really enjoyed this episode and I am excited to see what happens tomorrow.

She hasn’t had a chance to tell anyone yet…the actual sexual harassment didn’t start until the end of the episode when Asher tried to kiss her. Therefore, she had no reason to tell anyone of anything beforehand.

I’m just asking,but has anyone else noticed how in many of the episodes the characters have talking about a lot of tv shows. What’s up with all the product placement? Just Saying.

I don’t think it’s as much product placement as it is adding touches of realism to the series. If they mention a show that viewers can relate to, it makes the characters seem real. Same with musical acts. Back during the initial run of TNG, they had several lesser known or fake bands and tv shows, which meant nothing to viewers. I’m not sure they’re getting paid to name-drop any of those shows, so it simply feels as though the writers are hoping viewers relate to the characters more often. My only issue with this is that they consistently reference very Americanized shows, instead of some of the Canadian-only shows/bands that they would be privy too. Just a small gripe, but nothing to get all bent out of shape about.

It amazes me how gullible this fan base is! Cam says he doesn’t like hockey? Bam! That must be true! If everything everybody said was true, the definition of “lie” wouldn’t exist. Besides, he just said that cause he didn’t know what else to say.
Can saying this was about as believable as Tristan’s song. And something about Cam’s face looked very disappointed in that moment.
I think a pretty cool twist would be if those two were dating behind Maya’s back. Tristan looked like he had a dirty little secret.

Lies on Degrassi are never that subtle. They’re always plot points, and the liar either confesses or is exposed. Alii’s lie about the pregnancy test is being played out-Jenna still has a curfew. But the truth will emerge. On Degrassi, it always does.
When Cam says he doesn’t like hockey, we don’t get any of the usual Degrassi tip offs that it’s a lie. And given the situation—that he’s sitting in a photo booth with the only person at school in whom he’s shown any interest—there’s no reason to think it is.
